The following text is an edited translation of a summary of ar-Radd al-Mufhim by Shaykh Naasiruddeen al-Albaanee found in pages 5-20 of the introduction of his book Jilbaab al- Mar’ah al-Muslimah, 3rd edition, 1996, al-Maktabah al-Islaamiyyah.

Excerpt from the book:

I posed the question: “What does the Bible say about Muhammed?” Without hesitation he answered, “Nothing!” I asked: “Why nothing? According to your interpretation the Bible have so many things to say about the rise of Soviet Russia and about the Last Days and even about the Pope of the Roman Ca Catholics?” He said, “Yes, but there was nothing about Muhummed!” I asked again, “Why nothing? Surely this man Muhummed who had been responsible for the bringing into being a world-wide community of millions of Believers who, on his authority, believe in: (1) the miraculous birth of Jesus, (2) that Jesus is the Messiah,(note 6) (3) that he gave life to the dead by God’s permission, and that he healed those born blind and the lepers by God’s permission.

Concepts of Hizb ut-Tahrir (Mafahim Hizb ut-Tahrir) by Taqiuddin an-Nabhani.

Any Nation whose people believe in an idea would also want their future generations to adopt such ideas so as to preserve them. This culture of a Nation is what determines a people’s civilisation, the nation’s goals, and their way of life. Such people are moulded into one Nation based on this culture. And it is this culture that distinguishes one nation from another. This also holds true for the Muslim Ummah.

What is meant by culture is the Aqeedah and what emanates from this Aqeedah in terms of Ahkams, solutions and systems; and what is based upon the Aqeedah such as other knowledge, sciences and the history linked to this culture (biography of the Ummah). If this culture is lost, it will lead to the demise of the Ummah as a distinguished Ummah; the objective of the Ummah and her way of life will be changed and she will be left following the culture of other nations.

The Prophet (saw) was not just a human being, he received a revelation from Allah (swt) and thus, he was a Messenger. His (saw) roles in life were not limited to being a father, a grandfather, and a husband. He (saaw) was a judge, a ruler, an army commander and a statesman. Thus to understand his personality we have to understand all his (saw) roles. And for him (saw) to be our example he (saw) should be obeyed in all of these aspects. The life of the Prophet (saw) provides a source of legislation to each and every one in all aspects of their life. From the private citizen and to the head of the state. From the father and to the husband. And from the neighbour to the judge. Many writings have only talked about one aspect of the life of the Prophet (saaw), the family aspect. By doing this a major aspect of his (saaw) life was ignored or over shadowed. Thus, in this book we discuss the untold aspect of his personality in order to know how to obey him.
