From the pen of the late, famous scholar Shaykh Muhammad Mitwalli al-Sha’rawi. The question of the end of the world is a topic which has captured the interest of all, including scientists and the pseudo-scientists who offer theoretical predictions about how the world will come to an end. Such theories change on a regular basis because they are not based on true knowledge, which is to be found only in Allah’s Revelation. In this book Shaykh Al-Sha’rawi points out the contrast between the changing perspective of the human being and immutable universe in which he lives and which provides the human being with evidence of his Creator. He also points out how the apparent stability of the universe can delude someone lacking belief in the Creator so that he fails to realise the true nature of existence, the transience of the human being and the necessity of awakening from the delusion of his own power before death forces him to wake up.

This important book covers an area about which most people have very little knowledge but which is at the same time, of vital interest to all human beings. It outlines what happens to the human soul from the moment of death until the arrival of the Day of Judgement. It describes the death profess itself, the exact relationship of the soul to the body, the states of the soul after it leaves this world, and the nature of the ongoing relationship between the dead and those who are still alive. Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah was born into a scholarly and virtuous family in 691 AH/ 1292 A.D. At that time Damascus was a centre of literature and thought. Many schools were located there and he studied and graduated under the protection, direction and sponsorship of his father. He was particularly influenced by his Shaykh and teacher Ahmad b. Taymiyyah, and also by Ibn ash-Shirazi amongst others. Layla Mabrouk, an eminent, contemporary, Egyptian scholar has skillfully abridged a classic work by the well know scholar.

This book is the fourth in the series. It deals with many important matters that have always perplexed the human minds, but that, as is shown in this book, have been clearly explained in the authentic Texts from Allah’s Book and His Messenger’s Sunnah. Among the subjects covered are the following: The Moment of Death, The Soul’s Trip to the Heavens, The Final Test, The Righteous and the Sinful in al-Barzakh, Saviors from the Grave’s Punishment, Communications with al-Barzakh and Things That Benefit the Dead.

Full Title – ‘The Good End (of One’s Life) – Its Means, Portents and the Warning of the Bad End’ A portion (of good) for a man in this world is his lifetime; if he makes good use of it in things that benefit him in the eternal abode (Paradise), then his trade will be of a great profit. But if he misuses it (his life) by committing sins and disobedience till he meets Allah in such a state, he is surely of those who are losers; how many of them in the graves?! He who is of a sound sense calls himself for account before Allah calls him to account (on the Day of Account), and fears his sins (and consequently get faraway from them) before they lead him to destruction (i.e. HellFire).
